My good friends John Chandler and Todd Hiestand put together regular leadership and event podcasts for the Ecclesia Network. Since Ecclesia, as a relational network of church planting leaders, is the primary point of origin for Missio Alliance, we thought it would be cool to begin to try and have some of the folks that will presenting and leading workshops at the inaugural national gathering, “The Future of the Gospel: Renewing Evangelical Imagination for Mission,” on. So, a couple weeks ago I had the opportunity to join Todd and John in having a conversation with Scot McKnight, who will be one of our featured presenters next April.
PS – An (almost) complete line up of presenters for this gathering is here. I hope you’ll agree the various kinds of diversity represented in this collection of leaders is bound to bring something unique and significant to our time together.
In the podcast we talk about Scot’s early involvement with the Emerging Church, the fracturing of American Evangelicalism, the King Jesus Gospel and some of Scot’s upcoming book projects, the importance of the issue of women in ministry, the significance of Anabaptism for the future of the North american Church, some of the aims of the Missio Alliance, and just how well suited our current models of theological education are for equipping the sort of leaders the Church needs.
Lots of good stuff in there. Enjoy!
