Thanks for the words of encouragement my friend.

We always wear the same color - just how we roll!

We buy exceptionally dry paper that requires a lot of licking.

Good luck with the software, I will signup and then not use it just as soon as I can ;)

So, as a non-participant who will cling to the excuse of not having a Mac, I have a few thoughts on your contest, engaging people across the internet, and your video above.

On the contest and engaging people - I would say that your "conversion rate" for getting people to make a video was about right. I'll bet that if some big-time blogger ran a similar contest, he/she would get hundreds of video responses out of tens of thousands of readers.

I'm working on creating/selling some group collaboration software over the web, and I will refrain from shamelessly plugging it here. However, I'll say that we have had similar conversion rates in terms of people who visit our site to people who actually sign up to try our application for free.

I think it's hard to motivate people to action over the interwebs. Don't give up though. I say run a few more of these (maybe with some other incentive) and see how it goes. I have a theory that you will get more participation each time.

So, other thoughts.

You guys were quite color coordinated in your video. How cute. ;-)

Also, you licked your finger about a dozen times.

Anyhow, good job Rozkos.

Congrats on the gift certificate Mark! Love redbrown.org - let the ideas roll! Don't worry about the readership count - it's more fickle a schizophrenic squirrel trying to cross 90 at 5PM downtown.

wow! if i had my flip cam at my side i would use it to post a vid comment back at ya, BUT LET MY FINGERTIPS EXPRESS MY CHRISTMAS JOY at being named (by total luck, i understand) the winner of the contest. this sets several things in motion: (i) i now have a REALLY GOOD GIFT to bring to the International Teams Christmas party gift exchange! (ii) video contest/game ideas are bubbling up for my own website (<a href="http://redbrown.org/)." target="_blank">http://redbrown.org/).</a> and (iii) i have to go after the modicum of jealousy (also bubbling up) at your readership count (208). dang! Merry Christmas Rozkos, and everyone.

Oh hey - didn't realize how the Live By Giving thing worked... I chose the Philippines flood relief, because I have friends who are working to build orphanages that feel like homes in the Philippines - <a href="http://lifechild.org" target="_blank">http://lifechild.org</a>

Heyo! Second place!

On my wife's side of the family this year we're giving from the World Vision "Christmas catalog" (where you can buy livestock and agricultural stuff for people who need that kind of capital). I'll probably be using the $10 toward something from the catalog.
