Jenna Anderson had a great idea for her wedding. They found a honeymoon registry, where people could gift towards airfare, dinner for two, spa time, and stuff to do while on the honeymoon. It saved a lot of money, and I thought was a creative and fun idea.

I know a lady that can make the $155 veil for $10 max.
It's Amy's mom.
Oh, I guess she is already planning on doing that and saving some $$$

Hotwire.com. It gives you the "star rating" of the hotel (with guidelines available to view on the site) but not the actual name of the hotel itself until you've already paid and confirmed your reservation. So if you're willing to take a little "risk", you can save pretty big money. Ed and I stayed at a beautiful Crown Plaza (which is 3 1/2 stars according to Hotwire) for $49 a night. I think the regular rate was $149 or something ridiculous like that. We've also stayed at the Westin (a 4 star hotel) for $61. Definately worth checking out if you guys know the exact dates and where you'll be going! Good luck!

Tips for saving money include:
1. Steal things from other people. It's way less expensive when it's hot.
2. Find someone having a wedding around the same time as you, and then just show up an hour before they do and pretend that you're them.
3. Have a destination wedding and make everyone pay their own way. Then, make them all leave, and you're on your honeymoon! Two birds... one stone.
4. Can somebody say "Justice of the peace?"
5. Don't ask for help friends like Joshua Elek who are completely incapable of being helpful when they see an opportunity to be funny. Especially when they've got two thumbs, and they're really not funny.

2 recommendations on the honeymoon. There is a time to selfish and this is the time.
1) Splurge and and do an all-inclusive. You don't have to clean, cook, etc. The only work you have to do is get up and sit on the beach.
2) check out www.vrbo.com. You might be able to rent a house and have your own space for cheaper than a week's hotel stay.

Did you mean Friday or Sunday? We're all over the Sunday deal. We are doing a dessert reception. Reception will be same location as ceremony. Friends will be taking pictures. Amy is making her dress. We don't really care what anyone else thinks so we should be all good to go!! (just kidding on the last 2 by the way). Thanks for all the suggestions that we're already doing ;)

Well cost saving ideas are to get married on an "off" day, friday or saturday. I have seen people do later weddings and have a dessert reception. You could do a pot-luck reception. Getting married in a church with a big enough space for a reception saves money. We had friends with really nice cameras take all of our wedding pictures. We made everything that we could ourselves, bulletins, invitations, table decorations.

Just remember, family's in particular, have a lot of emotion riding on a wedding...with that said you will probably offend someone, but remember that they will get over it. You can't please everyone.

I guess I had a lot to say! Hope that helps!

Cost- saving: Do you know where you're having your honeymoon? If you stay in the states, I know of a website that might save quite a bit on money for a hotel! Ed and I used it for the week of our honeymoon in the Florida Keys and saved over $400 on what the hotels would have normally gone for.

Hey Stevey. We are getting married at the beginning of July. We are working on a wedding website (not up yet) with a "gift registry" section. That sounds like a good option to include, thanks.
