• Partial Update

    September 27, 2007

OK, here’s a partial update – the full one would be overwhelming.

After a long, hard battle of weighing various options and opportunities, I made the decision to return to Ohio to be near family and a long-time community of friends.  This meant having to resign from my position with the MAGL which was not something I was looking forward to.  However, I was thrilled that my good friend Dave Stutzman interviewed and was hired to replace me – he’s an amazing guy all around.

2 amazing friends, Adam and Ryan flew out to California and drove home to Ohio with me over Labor Day weekend (pictures here).

We drove 16 hours on Saturday to Denver where we spent the night at my friend Autumn’s parents house and then did 15 more hours on  Sunday to arrive in Chicago.  My friend Nick was there to see his girlfriend Rachel who I was planning on seeing anyway – she’s a student at Wheaton.  We got to have breakfast with my cousin Gwen and her boyfriend Rob and then finished the trip on up by dropping Ryan off in Columbus, having dinner with Heather, and heading on back to Canton.  All told, 2,500 miles, 40 hours of driving and no incidents (save for the unfortunate ticket Adam got in Iowa).

I have been working hard to finish up TA work for some classes back at Fuller and will begin working on writing up an online course in the next month or so.

I have also been working to restore the damage done to my home by 2 renters who were not so nice, reconnecting with friends, and trying to get a feel for this whole suburban midwest thing again (more on this to follow).

I am gonna need a new job real soon (also more to follow) and I am anxious to try and figure out what life as part of a church community is gonna look like.

    Now ya know.
