In case you were wondering, apparently offering bribes is no longer a moral issue!

This is an ad right off the page of a church. That’s right, a sermon series about not being self-absorbed which folks are bribed into attending by the offer of a free iTunes gift certificate.
Regarding the tactics, a Southern Baptist spokesman said, “The method is fair game as long as it’s not illegal, immoral or against scripture. The message must never be compromised.”
In the midst of a series which aim to convince folks, “the Bible teaches that if you want to be considered GREAT, you must learn to SERVE, the pastor was quoted as saying, “I can’t reach them in they don’t come in the door.”
I think it’s fair to say that we have a disconnect here somewhere wouldn’t you?

Can you serve with the goal to be great?
Can you address self-absorption without addressing iChurch?
