As a victim it took me a long time to realize this but as I've grown and matured physically, mentally and spiritually my views have changed. While as a parent I am of course cautious and am not looking to throw my child into a potentially harmful situation I would be a hypocrite to teach my children that God is loving and forgives us our sins and we should be imitators of God and then turn around and shun someone because of their sin. Common sense and being living examples of Christ are not mutually exclusive character traits.

We will soon be facing this exact situation in our community of believers and sadly we are divided and it is going to take a lot to bring us together.
