Today I attended a lecture about the protection of human rights in the middle-east amongst all the atrocities that are happening.  I actually got to hold a piece of jagged metal that missles are packed with and which rip apart buildings and people as they explode.  Somehow touching it just made it all so much more real to me.  This is when I realized how little I know and how much less I understand about all the conflict in the middle-east.  It’s to the point that I think it’s flat out wrong for me as a Christian to not have better understanding of this complex situation.  How can I pray?  How can I participate?  How can I dialogue? – when I don’t have a good idea of what is going on.

So, can anyone offer a concise explanation or point me in the direction of a resource which would begin to explain the relationship between all the various issues in the middle-east (Hizbulloh – Alkaida – Jews – Christians – Muslims – Palestine – Israel – Lebannon – Governments & Leaders – Islam – etc., etc.)?
