YOu have to stay stubborn and curt. My dad travels all the time for work and knows the airline system inside and out. I called him this morning around 11 and told him the situation, he called me back at 5 and informed me that I had received a complete refund and all I needed to do was send the tickets back. Amazing! So, to all my friends who have been oppressed by "The Man," take heart, there is hope.
