I just deleted 5-6 paragraphs that detailed what I have been doing since I got home on Friday evening. No need to walk you thorough all the detials. Instead, I’ll just say that this has been a great weekend. I have been constantly on the move and have spent some great time with friends and family already. Plus, I am loving the cold and snow. I feel like a kid seeing fireflies for the first time. Everytime I step outside and am greeeted by the chill of the air and the glimmer of the snow a big smile comes across my face.
As my plane was coming into Cleveland I was looking out the window and all I could see was dusty brown and green land. Then, as if God had hand drawn a line, the entire landscape turned a powdery white. It was amazing. And, promise not to tell anyone, I instantly found myself humming the tune to “It’s A Whole New World” from Aladdin. Don’t know where that came from, but it resulted in me laughing out loud!
The next two weeks, I’m sure, are gonna fly, but they promise to be great. Shopping with friends, Bible study with some of my former students, caroling, Christmas stuff with my family, big New Year’s Eve party with many friends from out of town and others that I haven’t seen in a long time, and of course miscellaneous lunch dates, coffee meetings, and impromptu hanging out. I can’t wait.
I also can’t wait to brag about some of my friends from Fuller. I spent some time in the last few weeks saying what I appreciate and miss about many of my friends from back here in Ohio. I am looking forward to doing the same thing for some of the amazing people that make life great for me back in California.
