This past Sunday was such a cool day. It was our first “all church retreat.” We joked about this because in reality it was 4 people who decided to spend the day together and invited some others along. I spent the day with (left to right) Amber, Zoey, (Big Tricep) Ryan, yours truly, Erica, and Mike. My roommate ryan and his girlfriend Jenny went with us, but had to leave begfore the picture. Mike’s sister Michelle joined us later in the day.
We got down to Knott’s Berry Farm early in the morning to beat the rush and hit as many rides as we could. Then we hit up Chili’s for dinner. We devoured 4-5 baskets of chips and salsa! Then, I needed to visit a church service for a class to write a paper, so we all went to a service at Rock Harbor in Orange County. We topped off the evening with a trip to a self serve frozen yogurt shop. This was about the coolest place on earth. Ther had about 10 different flavors of frozen yogurt and every topping imaginable. You make your own sunday and then pay by weight. I think mine was a mix of cookies and cream and irish mint yogurt topped with butterfinger crumbles, cookie dough balls, sprinkles, carmel, and strawberries – yum!
It was a truly great day of getting to know one another, having really cool conversations, learning to share and enjoy, and just plain having fun and relaxing.

3JR, this sounds like it was a fantastic day. Have a great thanksgiving, and good luck with the Isaiah papers.

4Ok, answer this question:
If you could invite ten people over for a Thanksgiving dinner, who would they be? They could be anyone, dead or living. Think about the sort of conversation that you could foster by your simple invitation to each one …
