You're so right - fear can keep us from a lot of things, but in the end - there really isn't anything to fear but the fear itself. I once heard someone say if you're going to play the "what if" game, play it all the way through. For example - "what if I try to befriend so and so and she rejects me." To play it through - you'd have to figure out the worst possible scenario. Well, she could call me a loser and tell people I'm the most boring person ever to walk the face of the earth and my feelings would be hurt. But, I'd still be alive, have the friends I already posess and life would continue on. I try to do that whenever Satan discourages me or tries to lie to me about my future.
